KRISTEN FLETCHER

Kristen has been performing and teaching music for the past 10 years. Studying classical music with the Suzuki method, she then went on to study jazz & other contemporary styles of music at the Australian Institute of Music. After receiving her BMus in Music Performance, Kristen further explored her passion for jazz, soul & pop music and has never looked back. It was during this period that she began writing her own material & singing became a natural result of her desire to communicate with her audience. 

Now, Kristen performs as both a keyboardist & singer, having shared the stage with some of Australia’s finest including Dami Im, Samantha Jade, Bertie Blackman, Urthboy, Horrorshow and International pop star, Hilary Duff. You may have also seen her performing on popular TV shows such as X-Factor, Sunrise and The Morning Show.

Kristen also fronts her own trio, performing both original & covers material. Her influences stem from a wide musical palette, including the likes of Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, Robert Glasper and Norah Jones. As a teacher, Kristen strives to inspire a love & passion for playing music no matter the student's age or ability. 


MARTIN SERRA

Martin is our "all-rounder" guy teaching guitar, bass, drums and ukulele! Martin Serra is a self taught multi-instrumentalist with a passion for expressing his love of music in an array of musical styles and genres. Primarily a bass player, Martin is also a session drummer, keyboard player and guitarist.

Growing up in a musical family in Manila, Philippines - he picked up his first of many instruments at the tender age of 7 and continued to explore throughout the years. By the age of 16, Martin had already toured the country performing and conducting band workshops with his local Church. It was also at this age that he decided to concentrate on the bass, following in his father’s footsteps. Before moving to Australia, Martin had already begun performing for some of Philippine’s top artists at the age of 18 in the role of Musical Director and made a name for himself as one of the young, up and coming musicians to watch. Once in Sydney, he soon made the right connections and found himself as an in demand session bass player for many of Sydney’s top acts. Today, he continues to perform as a multi-instrumentalist and is known as the guy with the pocket and the groove, played straight from the heart.

Martin has been seen performing on popular TV programs such as The X Factor AU and Channel Seven’s Sunrise and The Morning Show. Artists he’s worked with include Simply Red (Mick Hucknall), Olly Murs, Nathaniel and Gazele.

He is also regularly called upon to organise bands & perform with International Filipino touring artists such as Lea Salonga (Disney), Charice (US), Kat Agarrado (Sinosikat, PH) and Wally Gonzalez (Juan De La Cruz, PH) to name only a few. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Martin has a wealth of knowledge to share with his students.


ERIN BADMAN

Erin is a Sydney based singer/songwriter and tutor. After completing a Bachelor of Music in 2012 at the Australian Institute of music, Erin spent the next three years enveloping herself in the Sydney Music scene, performing at venues such as Playbar, Foundry 616, The Seymour Centre, and many more. 

Her love of jazz and soul then lead her bounding around the world, studying informally in 2015 at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and performing with local musicians in the New York Jazz scene during a 3 month stay. She has also headlined at esteemed jazz venue ‘No Black Tie’, Malaysia KL 2016 performing with the John Dip Silas jazz quartet. 

As a music tutor of 6 years teaching both piano and voice, Erin is passionate about sharing her love of music with others. She instructs in voice technique versatile to style and genre, songwriting, musicianship and transcription.


STAN WONG

Stan has been teaching guitar for the past 9 years and covers a variety of styles and genres. Since graduating from the Australian Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music, Stan has been performing in many bands and has established himself as one of the most in demand session musicians in Sydney. Just as comfortable on the acoustic as he is on the electric, Stan's versatility is certainly among his strengths. 

Stan has performed with some of Sydney's top acts including Gazelle, Cavan Te & the Fuss and Sexy Sunday Jam. He is also featured on Gazelle's debut originals album. Whether it be in the recording studio, live on stage or in the classroom, Stan brings a professionalism that can be admired. He looks forward to sharing his passion with his students at Studio K!


JACQUIE PEARCE 

Jacquie is an accomplished musician and has been performing professionally since 2010. After receiving her Bachelor of Music (The Australian Institute of Music) in Contemporary Performance she has established herself as one of Sydney's most versatile musicians. She has played and toured both as a session player and band member with multiple acts, including Jeremy Costa, Particles, Jordan Worner, international artist Dan Bremnes and her own act Jac Travers. She has a background in multiple genres including classical, jazz, pop and rock.

Jacquie has been teaching since 2012, teaching piano, voice, guitar, bass & ukulele!! She has worked with students ages three to elderly and from levels beginner to advanced. She believes in structuring the lesson according to the student’s interests and goals. She encourages them to reach their full potential and enjoy themselves and the music in the process.
